Inkless Skin Rejuvenation
What Is Inkless Skin Rejuvenation (ISR)?
Inkless skin rejuvenation is one of the best solutions for improving the appearance of stretch marks and scars with more and more people realizing how effective the treatment can be. It can also help tighten skin and treat fine lines and wrinkles.
How does it work?
The treatment uses a specialized permanent makeup machine, single use needle cartridges and medical grade serums to stimulate the skin's natural healing process, reducing the appearance of stretch marks, scars and fine lines and wrinkles. It works by creating controlled micro-injuries that encourage collagen and elastin production, leading to smoother, more even-toned skin.
Benefits of ISR:
What does it feel like?
Although most people say they experience little or no pain at all; somewhat like a light scratch. If necessary, a topical numbing cream before and/or during your treatment to minimize any discomfort, but best results are achieved without using it.
How long does each procedure take?
Depending on the area and condition being treated, the procedure could vary from 20 minutes to 1.5 hours.
What will I look like after the procedure?
ISR has little to no downtime; most people return to work following the procedure. Depending on what is being treated, skin redness and swelling are expected immediately following the treatment. Swelling will subside within 24 hours; redness (especially on stretch marks) can persist for several days. Skin tightening on the face is very fast to heal. Redness is usually gone within 6-12 hours. Your skin may feel dry, tight, itchy or sensitive in the days following, depending on the location of the area treated and how aggressive the treatment was performed. Products to hydrate and nourish the skin will be offered following your treatment.
What results can I expect & how long with it last?
ISR is designed to improve the appearance of your scars or stretch marks. Most people can expect to see a 30-90% reduction in the severity of their scarring and stretchmarks. ISR provides permanent results, however these can be affected if the skin undergoes further stretching via weight gain or injury to the area. The longevity of results is also dependent on factors such as age, general health, lifestyle, diet and UV exposure.
How many sessions will be required?
The number of sessions required will depend on the size and depth of the scar/stretch marks and the client’s expectations. Typically, it will take between 1-4 sessions to achieve desired results. Collagen levels peak at about 14 days post treatment and continue for weeks following. Sessions are booked 3-8 weeks apart, to allow the deeper layers of skin time to heal in between. Christine will assess your individual health factors and healing to determine what intervals are appropriate for your specific treatment and healing timelines.
How does ISR compare to "stretch mark camouflage"?
Stretch mark camouflage attempts to match ink to your skin tone to blend the appearance of the stretch marks with surrounding unaffected skin. Ink based camouflage can be problematic in that it may change color over time and your skin tone may change with light exposure (tanning). With ISR, there is no ink used. Through healing from the procedure and over time, the skin will regain its own natural pigmentation, blending seamlessly on its own.
How does it compare to Laser Treatments?
As a non-ablative, non-thermal treatment, inkless stretchmark revision does not remove or burn the top layer of the skin. ISR stimulates the body's natural collagen, elastin, and melanocyte production, therefore, it will help restore and normalize pigmentation in the skin, whereas lasers will not. Inkless treatments tend to cost much less than laser treatments.
